4 Ways to Feel Vibrant and Be Productive (What to do the night before)

A woman’s work is never done.

That quote could never be more accurate about my lifestyle. There isn’t much downtime in my busy schedule. Most days consists of all the following activities for me – preparing school lunches, school drop-off and pickups, writing, staging and styling photoshoots, helping with homework in the evenings, and of course cooking home-cooked meals in the evenings. Those are just some of the tasks I complete on a daily basis. Honestly, I push my body a lot of times to get everything done and often I suffer for it.

When Mom’s down, the whole family suffers.

I end up with aches and not as productive as I could be. It can take several days to fully recover from the aches and pains of pushing myself. Lately, I’ve taken note of a few things that always help me get back on track. TYLENOL® PM (use as directed) has been a big help in relieving those minor aches and pains especially when I’m falling asleep. In addition, there are a few other key measures that help me feel vibrant for the next day.

1. Take a hot bath or shower.

After the kids are in bed, there is a little time left for me. It’s not much but it’s my time. If you can, try taking soaking in a hot bath once a week. It makes you slow down and breathe. Ah! Just breathe. However, don’t dispel the effects of a hot shower. Turn on the shower a few minutes before you enter the bathroom. The steam will give you a sauna effect and help you relax into your evening. Be sure to keep your favorite soaps on hand. Some scents also have calming effects and will aid in the process.

2. Make a to-do list the night before to increase productivity for the next day.

How many days have I woken up and wrote out 8-10 tasks that I need to complete that day? Way too many times. Then, I look back at my list and think “That will never work!” One problem is that I’m having a hard time prioritizing my tasks because I’m suddenly overwhelmed. Sound familiar?

In reality, the night before, I should be prioritizing what’s important for the next day. It’s likely that the very last thing you want to do before bedtime is make a list. That’s understandable. So, if that’s you, make the list while you’re still in work mode. Write a list of the top 3 most important tasks that need to be completed the next day. You’re on your way to being productive for the next day!

3. Turn off all devices, tv included.

Do you stay up late at night checking your phone or tablet? We are all guilty so don’t feel bad. However, starting today make a change to do better. The brightness from your devices is not allowing your brain to shut off. So, the longer you keep your devices on you’re telling your brain it’s time to stay up. In order to get to the next step (good rest), you’ll need to turn off all devices. Yes, even the TV. Turn it off. Let your mind rest!

4. Get a good night’s rest.

Nothing will help get you back on track like a good night’s rest! After you’ve completed all the steps above, a good night’s rest without aches and pains is in order though. It’s proven that a good night’s sleep positively impacts your mental and physical well-being.

Interestingly, just like myself, sleeplessness is the primary issue that most people face. TYLENOL® is currently working with Walgreens to help change that. I found TYLENOL® PM at my local Walgreens on the pain relief aisle. Now through Saturday, 11/11/17, Walgreens is offering $1.50 off TYLENOL® PM when you use your Walgreens card.

Pain is the last thing you need when you finally lie down after a long day. TYLENOL® PM relieves those minor aches and pains while helping you fall asleep. Be sure to check out TYLENOL® on Facebook and Youtube to learn more about how they are helping other consumers like myself.

When I take the 4 steps above, I’m on track to feeling vibrant and being super-productive. Yes, the days can get busy and even stressful. But with the proper measures you can conquer most things. After all, my list is long but I’m checking off everything. One task at a time.

What’s one thing you do every night to feel great the next day?
