Chicken Wire Frame

In my efforts to be resourceful, I try to look for creative ways to use what I have to make something useful. Over a year ago, I bought a big antique frame and it sat in my shed for several months.  At first, I honestly had no idea what I was going to do with it.  Then over time…the vision started coming together.  I would paint it (what don’t I paint) and add chicken wire to the back. Here is a not so great Iphone picture, just in case I start a blog one day horrible before picture of it. You can see it there amongst all my shed junk.

The painting was completed before I discovered Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ so it was spray painted in White.  I bought chicken wire from my local feed store, and “B” helped me to attach it to the back of the frame. Clothespins were added to attach photos and other inspirational items. Here is what the frame looks like afterwards. Pretty simple project with great results.  This is a piece that inspires and will be around our house for a long time.

The next time you see a photo frame with no backing or with an ugly picture inside, buy it anyway. You might be surprised at how creative you can get with such a simple item.
