White Wine Sangria

During the warm spring and summer months, I really enjoy drinking white wine. Chardonnay is my favorite white wine or a white wine blend. It’s perfect when we’re grilling or spending the evening outdoors. From time to time, I enjoy drinking white wine while I cook too. We recently had a bottle of white wine and started thinking about what else we could do with it. That’s been the basis of a lot of our cocktail recipes lately. With a little thought we realized we had enough to make our very own white wine sangria.

Brandon grabbed a few fresh oranges from our fruit trees and cut-up several other fruits. We keep fresh mint on hand for drinks like Moscow mules and figured it would be a nice garnish for the sangria. While we were prepping the fruit and mugs, the wine was also chilling too. To avoid having to add ice, be sure to chill your wine at least an hour in advance. Place your wine in the freezer to speed up the process.

What I love most about this drink is how simple it is to make. There is no way you can mess it up. At the last minute, I decided to add apples to the pitcher because I had some extras that needed to be used. No problem because apples are completely acceptable in sangria. So be sure to make this your own specialty by adding in either what you have on hand or with what fruits you love the most.

Additionally, this white wine sangria is way better than just white wine. It’s a refreshing blend of your favorite fruits and wine, muddled all together. If you enjoy red wine sangria, then you’ll really enjoy the white wine version. It’s a little lighter and much more refreshing. And it’s okay if you need to throw in a cube or two of ice to perfectly chill it. We ended up doing that.
