Spring is well underway and it’s hot already! Ah! I love this time of year though, so I’m hanging in there. It’s only going to get hotter…like barely can breathe out your nose it’s so hot. HA! The heat is definitely worse in Louisiana. I’m working hard on some new recipes to keep us all cool and remembered I never shared our Blue Hawaiian cocktail recipe. It’s a cocktail we’ve been making for quite some time now and today I’m sharing the recipe with you.
What I love the most about this Blue Hawaiian is it’s bright colors. If you layer the ingredients correctly, then they don’t mix unless you stir it or shake it. However, this means that the alcohol sits at the top of the drink. So after pictures (if you’re taking a picture for Instagram) be sure to mix the whole drink well. It will turn a blue/green color…still very pretty.
You know how I feel about garnish. It means so much to a drink and this cocktail is no different. Because the majority of the drink consists of pineapple, I thought pineapple garnish seemed fitting. A lemon or lime would also suffice too. I also added festive umbrellas for extra drama. I really don’t think you can over garnish a drink. You might drink a Blue Hawaiian on the beach or at a summer BBQ.

This is the last week of school and I can’t wait! We started doing online public school for my daughter back in January and it went well. However, just like any schooling we are done. My daughter and I are both happy that we won’t have to worry with school for a few months. To celebrate, I’ll be enjoying a Blue Hawaiian Cocktail. How about you?
