When your daughter says “Mommy, we need a new floor…the floor is coming up”, that’s when you know it’s time to start renovating the kitchen. And with that statement, we have slowly started to renovate our kitchen. Up until now,we’ve painted the walls, finished this DIY/Craft project, and I also have a dining table that I re-did that I need to share with you. This is what the kitchen looked like when we moved in over 3 years ago.
So after 3 years, she’s right! We need a lot of new things in the kitchen. Our budget is very tight but phase 1 is underway. I will share more details on what the first phase entails later. For now, I just want to be inspired and I want to inspire you too!
There are some elements that I can’t see forgoing when it comes to the kitchen. One of those things is what type of countertops I want. I am currently not willing to compromise on this matter. I’m in LOVE with butcher-block countertops! The rustic and warm touch that they add to kitchens is so pretty. The fact that they are somewhat non-traditional is appealing as well. We have plans to paint our cabinets a light color so the dark and wooden countertops seems perfect for the style we are after. So please join me while I enjoy some butcher-block countertop inspiration!
Look how the white cabinets really pop with that dark wood countertop! And I think I see the sink I love peeking out there.
White subway tile, apron-front sink, open-shelving…oh my! Look at that faucet!
This kitchen really inspires me because a blogger that I follow did this kitchen update. DIY inspiration! Makes me feel like we can do it too.
The sink is gorgeous and the lights are A-MAZING.
Really like the industrial lighting above the sink in this kitchen.
The touches of color make this kitchen pop! Look at the decor above the cabinets too.
The painted floor adds character to this kitchen and the sink is lovely.
Open shelving, rustic floors and countertops. Oh my!
Do you like butcher-block countertops or not? If not, what’s your favorite countertop…marble, granite, soapstone? Tell me what you love!
