Entertaining doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes we think (I think) that we have to provide a big meal and our home has to be perfect for guests to visit. Entertaining ends up being a daunting task, and then we get overwhelmed. Have you ever done that? Please tell me I’m not the only one. Guess what? Sometimes simple snacks and drinks will get the job done! Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing how you can entertain with a tray and simple snacks.
Today, I’m sharing how to entertain with a galvanized tray: wine & cheese. You’ll need a galvanized tray like this Metal Tray with Handles or this Galvanized Tray With Rope Handle, gourmet cheese, sausage, pretty crackers, and a bottle or two of you favorite wine. Easy, right? I think so.
This is a shot of prep work for your tray. Slice your cheese and sausage or allow others to do it theirselves. I like to do it in advance that way people aren’t shy about cutting it or getting more.
The key to entertaining with just a tray is – make it pretty! If you’re not serving a big meal or no meal at all, at least look for ways to make what you serve pretty. The easiest way to do that is to buy visually appealing food or food in pretty packages. The crackers I found were ready to go in a box that slide right out the package. Visually they were pretty too! Look for pretty food or for ways to pair it with other food. Assemble everything on your tray and bring out to serve!
Tip: Fresh flowers are a great way to make your tray pretty or entertaining area in general. Buy fresh flowers when you pick up your snacks. Put them in a mason jar and add water. BOOM! It looks like you really tried hard, but you didn’t. HA! It sure does look pretty though. Your guests have no choice but to comment on how nice and pretty everything is.
Tip: Have your guests bring their favorite bottle of wine that way there is more to go around.
Use what serving items you have on hand to pull this off. Search your cabinets for nice napkins, dishes, and other serving items that maybe you don’t use often. The point is to style everything in a visually appealing manner so there is more to look at.
Tip: Inform your guests beforehand as to what you’re serving for food and drinks. This will allow them the opportunity to adjust their eating habits before they arrive. The pressure is then off of you and it’s up to them to eat accordingly. You don’t have to feel bad about not providing a full meal. BOOM!
This article was to give you tips and ideas on how to entertain using a galvanized tray, featuring wine and cheese. Please use this as a guide and be sure to share what you come up with. If you like the look, create your own wine and cheese tray with these products. Who’s coming over for snacks?
