I recently wrote about how I was going to paint my living room fireplace. In an effort to determine what color would be best, I started to look for what others were doing first. To my surprise, fireplaces have been painted every color – blue, gray, and even red. Yippee for me! That was reassuring to think I’m not the only one who has done this before. I’m not a trendsetter by any means. It doesn’t have to be a popular decision, but I like to know that someone has attempted what I’m about to do. It’s easier to learn from the mistakes of others. That’s just my design criteria. For today’s post, I’ve rounded up the best painted fireplaces you’ll find on the internet.
A pretty French green dominates this fireplace mantel. It really works with the stone color in the interior area of the fireplace. I don’t think this color would work for my fireplace because the colors though pretty are too dominant.
WOW! Obviously, I’m not painting my fireplace coral, but I thought this one was fun to include. From other surrounding details, it looks like this painted fireplace fits in perfectly. A little too bright and modern for my taste but it probably works well in that space.
Oh yeah! I’m loving this one! It has a few layers going on and that’s exactly how I like to paint anyway, so I was excited when I saw this painted fireplace. It’s a very rich gray but still leaves an array of options for mantel decor. This color or something similar is high on my list.
I give major props on a job well done with this light blue fireplace. It’s a “light and airy” blue and mixed with the white walls , it’s perfect for this space. A little too bold for me but in this room it matches perfectly.
Oh – la – la! Yep, you should have known that I really liked this one. This green/gray painted fireplace is a nice contrast and doesn’t blend in. It’s a little shabby with the multiple layers of paint and that appeals to me and my home.
Well look at this YELLOW fireplace! Isn’t she lovely?! Well, yes she is! This bright yellow almost has a mustard tone. It goes will the light gray walls and bright white trim. I must say that I really like this color, though it would be hard to find the perfect yellow.
Yes, I found a red fireplace and it’s much nicer than you’d think. I must admit I really like it and the duck egg blue walls. There is no way this color would work for my fireplace. But even you must admit…she’s pretty.
Gray just works all the time. This gray fireplace is a nice contrast and I like how they added in the wood planks above it too. I see another project to add to my list. This specific color gray isn’t my favorite, but with tile in the interior it works.
So, what do you think I should paint my fireplace? Green, yellow, red? I’d love to get your opinion. I love reading and responding to your comments
